What the 2026 Visa Waiver Treaty Actually Covers
Antigua and Barbuda and the UAE signed a reciprocal visa waiver agreement on 26 September 2025, formalised by Foreign Affairs Minister E.P. Chet Greene and the UAE's Minister of State for International Cooperation, Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, at the UN General Assembly. Antigua and Barbuda's Parliament ratified the arrangement in its Lower House in June 2026, clearing the way for citizens of both countries to travel to each other's territory without a visa for short visits.
How the East Caribbean Dollar Lines Up Against the Dirham
Budgeting is straightforward here: the East Caribbean dollar (XCD) has been pegged at a fixed rate of 2.70 to the US dollar since 1976, and the UAE dirham is itself pegged at roughly AED 3.67 to the US dollar.
