When does a Dubai trip make most sense from the Comoros?
Moroni's rainy monsoon season runs from November to April, and the region sees frequent cyclones. January is the wettest month, averaging about 364 mm of rain. That same stretch is Dubai's coolest and driest: January highs average 24°C, with barely 19 mm of rain. In July and August the picture flips. Moroni is drier, with highs near 28°C, while Dubai's average highs climb above 41°C.
A franc tied to the euro
The Comorian franc is fixed at 491.96775 francs to the euro, a peg in place since 1999 and backed by the French Treasury. The dirham, however, is tied to the dollar. Because the euro and the dollar move against each other, so does the franc against the dirham, and there is no stable conversion to rely on. Check the rate when you change money.
Get the visa sorted before you fly
Comorian passport holders need a UAE visa before they travel. The e-visa is the usual route, because Comorian passports are absent from the lists of nationalities stamped in on arrival. Apply early enough for approval to come through before your flight from Moroni.

Flights from Moroni to Dubai always involve a change of plane. These one-stop options connect Prince Said Ibrahim International Airport with Dubai:
- Addis Ababa, with Ethiopian Airlines, which flies from Moroni and on to Dubai.
- Nairobi, with Kenya Airways, which restored daily Nairobi–Dubai flights in May 2026 after a two-month suspension.
- Istanbul, with Turkish Airlines, whose Moroni service is seasonal and whose Dubai flights have resumed.
The Comoros runs one hour behind Dubai all year. A schedule change can leave a travelling companion's visa pending with little time to spare. The express Dubai visa is designed for short deadlines, though the UAE immigration authority has the final say.
