This page covers citizens of the Republic of the Congo, whose capital is Brazzaville. The Dubai visa for Congo citizens is an e-visa approved before travel. Not the DRC: Brazzaville and Kinshasa face each other across the Congo River, but they are the capitals of two different countries. The UAE measures announced for the Democratic Republic of the Congo in June 2026 name that country, not the Republic of the Congo.
Brazzaville passports still get UAE e-visas
Citizens of the Republic of the Congo must hold an approved UAE visa when they fly, and the standard route is the e-visa. Congolese passports do not receive a visa on arrival, so apply in advance and board only once the approval has come through.

The Dubai visa for Congo passport holders is therefore unaffected by the DRC measures, as long as you have not been in the DRC during the 21 days before you land.
No Congolese mission in the UAE
Dubai's official diplomatic directory lists no embassy or consulate for the Republic of the Congo, and Congo's list of missions abroad shows none in the UAE either. The Abu Dhabi embassy listed under "Congo" belongs to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Nor does the UAE keep an embassy in Brazzaville. Because help is far away, pack these before you leave:
- Your approved UAE e-visa, printed and saved on your phone.
- Your yellow fever vaccination card.
- Copies of your passport's photo page.
- Contact details for Congo's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Brazzaville.
Route around Kinshasa
Every route from the Republic of the Congo to Dubai needs at least one change of plane. Two work from Congolese airports:
- Ethiopian Airlines from Brazzaville or Pointe-Noire to Addis Ababa, then on to Dubai.
- Kenya Airways from Brazzaville to Nairobi, where daily Dubai flights resumed in May 2026.
Avoid itineraries that stop in Kinshasa. Some regional flights from Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire, including Air Côte d'Ivoire services, call at Kinshasa's N'djili airport. While the UAE's 21-day rule applies, time in the DRC can lead to refused entry. Clocks in Brazzaville are three hours behind Dubai's.
If a changed routing shortens your timeline while a companion's e-visa is still pending, the express route can help, though approval rests solely on the UAE immigration authority's decision.
Carrying the yellow fever card both ways
The Republic of the Congo is on the WHO's list of yellow fever risk countries, so the UAE asks anyone nine months or older arriving from there for proof of vaccination. You will need the same card on the way home, because the Congo requires it from every arrival over nine months old. Since July 2016, a single certificate has been valid for life.

The Central African CFA franc, Congo's currency, has a fixed parity of 655.957 to one euro. The dirham, which is anchored to the US dollar, moves differently, so the franc's value in dirhams rises and falls with the euro. There is no set conversion to memorise; look up the day's rate before exchanging cash.
