Curaçaoans carry Dutch passports, which settles the biggest question: the Dubai visa for Curaçao citizens amounts to an immigration stamp that costs nothing, good for as many as 90 days out of every 180. Step 1 — Connections via Amsterdam, Toronto or Miami

- Toronto: Air Canada Rouge flies from Curaçao, and Emirates has a daily Toronto–Dubai service.
- Miami: American Airlines flies from Curaçao, and Emirates flies from Miami to Dubai five times a week in about 14 hours 20 minutes.

Step 2 — Does your Dutch passport pass the UAE's checks?
In most cases, yes. Willemstad issues Dutch passports, which UAE immigration handles exactly like those from The Hague. The Dutch foreign ministry names three passport details that lead to refused entry in the UAE, so check yours before you book:
- the letter "X" in the gender field;
- a birth date missing its day, month or year, shown as "00" or "XX";
- a single name only, either a first name or a surname.

Step 4 — Guilder-to-dirham maths is simple
Curaçao switched to the Caribbean guilder on 31 March 2025, and the old Netherlands Antillean guilder stopped being legal tender on 1 July 2025. The new guilder is fixed at 1.79 per US dollar, the dirham at 3.6725 per dollar, so one guilder is worth about 2.05 dirhams. An AED 100 bill therefore comes to roughly Cg 49, and the rate stays put from week to week.
Step 5 — Reading the Dutch travel advice

Even so, the Dutch foreign ministry moved most of the UAE back from orange to yellow on 25 June 2026, meaning travel is possible with extra awareness. Only the islands of Abu Musa and the Tunbs remain red. Check the latest code shortly before you fly, since it can change quickly.
