Dubai Visa for Seychellois Citizens

A Seychelles passport gets you into the UAE without a visa arranged in advance. The UAE lists Seychelles among its visa-free nationalities, and the immigration counter stamps your passport on arrival with a visit visa covering up to 90 days. Flights and accommodation can be booked today, with no application stage in between. Anyone in your group who travels on a different passport is the one open question, and the options for companions on other passports are laid out clearly.

Most of what matters sits in the details around that headline. The arrival stamp carries two dates that count, not one. Your passport needs enough validity on the day you land. And ordinary plans, such as a long family stay, two trips in one season or a friend flying with you on a Mauritian passport, deserve a few minutes of thought before the tickets are bought.

If your trip fits inside 90 days and everyone in your party holds a Seychelles passport, you may not need anything from us at all. That is a perfectly good result. A handful of checks keep it that way, and they start with how the stamp works.

Two dates on one stamp

Picture the arrival stamp as two clocks started at the same moment. Current UAE entry guidance describes it as a multiple-entry visit visa that stays valid for six months from the day it is issued, with 90 days of stay in total. The six-month clock sets the window in which you can come and go on that one stamp. The 90-day clock sets how many days you can spend in the country inside that window.

Published summaries do not agree on how repeat visits are counted. Some read the allowance as a single running total, others as a fresh 90 days with every entry. Plan on the cautious reading, a single total, and keep your own record of every arrival and departure date. Here is how that arithmetic plays out:

PlanDays usedWhat is left
One visit of 14 days1476 days to spare
Two visits of 21 days, four months apart4248 days to spare
Three visits of 20, 25 and 30 days within six months7515 days to spare
A 60-day stay followed by a 35-day return95Five days over, so shorten the return

Calendar dates matter as much as totals. If your stamp is dated 14 March, the six-month window runs to mid-September. A trip that starts after that point begins from a new arrival, so confirm how many days it gives you before you book, because entry guidance can change between visits. Count the day you land and the day you leave as part of your total, and aim to depart a day or two before your limit rather than on it.

Passport checks before you book

UAE guidance asks for a passport valid for at least six months from the date you enter the country. That sounds generous until you look at the actual expiry date. A passport with five months left looks fine at a glance and falls short on arrival day. Open the bio page now, add six months to your planned entry date and compare the two. If the result lands after your expiry date, renewing before you book saves a rushed appointment.

Book every ticket in the name exactly as printed on the bio page, middle names included where the passport shows them. Airlines match tickets to passports, and a mismatch is far easier to correct before travel than at a check-in desk.

If your surname has changed since the passport was issued, tickets still follow the passport and not the marriage certificate. Travel under the name the passport shows, and book in that name even if every other document in your life has moved on.

Immigration officers can ask what the trip is for and how long you plan to stay. Having your return flight and the address where you will sleep ready on your phone makes those answers quick. Think of it as good habit rather than a formal checklist.

The UAE's own list of visa-free nationalities is worth a quick look if you like to see your entry on an official source. Entry lists are revised from time to time, so a check shortly before you travel is sensible.

Sizing the trip to the allowance

A week away and a three-month family stay start with the same stamp but need different planning. These are the common patterns, with the one thing worth settling first for each.

TripSettle this first
Shopping trip or weekend breakPassport validity on the day you land, and a fixed return date.
Family stay of several weeksAdd up every planned day, including days you spend back in the UAE after a side trip elsewhere.
Two or three visits in one seasonTreat them as one running total and note the date of the first stamp.
Work-related visitSay plainly what the trip is for. If it involves paid work or a long assignment, check the rules for your situation before you travel.
Stay of close to three monthsPlan the exit date, or the next step, at the start rather than in the final fortnight.
Visit that may turn into a longer stayFix a cut-off date now: the day you will leave if nothing else has been arranged by then.

Side trips deserve a note. A day in another emirate changes nothing, because you remain inside the UAE. A weekend in Oman is different: leaving and coming back means another arrival, and the days you spend in the UAE across those visits can count toward the same total. Write each border crossing in your log.

Here is a worked month. You land on 3 July, spend ten days in Dubai counting both the landing day and the day you leave, cross to Oman for four days and re-enter on 16 July. You fly home on 2 August, which makes 18 more days inside the UAE. Across the two arrivals that is 28 days used and 62 still unspent on the cautious reading, and the six-month window that began on 3 July closes in early January. Nothing about that trip is close to a limit, which is the point of doing the sum before you book.

Ninety days is a little under thirteen weeks. A stay planned for twelve weeks leaves about six spare days, which feels comfortable until a flight is rebooked or a side trip adds a night. When a plan uses more than 75 days, treat the margin as part of the itinerary and choose a departure date with a week in hand.

Companions on other passports

Entry rules follow the passport, not the booking. Two people on the same flight, heading to the same hotel, can be entitled to different things. UAE guidance currently places Mauritian passport holders in the 30-day group while Seychelles sits in the 90-day group, so a Mauritian friend travelling with you may be stamped for a shorter stay than you. Plan the group's length of stay around the shortest allowance, or let each person fly home on their own schedule.

The Indian Ocean neighbours show how widely the groups differ, which matters when a mixed group plans one trip:

PassportOn arrival in the UAE
SeychellesVisa free, up to 90 days
MaldivesVisa free, up to 90 days
MauritiusVisa free, 30 days
MadagascarVisa required in advance
ComorosVisa required in advance

Passports from countries that need a visa in advance are a different matter. That traveller must have the visa in hand before boarding, whatever your own status. This is where our service genuinely fits: you can add a spouse, a parent or a friend to the same application as a family or group file, and you choose the stay length that suits your plans. Compare the 30-day single-entry visa with the other options, and if dates are tight, the express route exists for exactly that situation.

Mixed families need the same care. A spouse, parent or child who holds another nationality is judged on that passport, not on yours. Go through the family one passport at a time and write the stay allowed next to each name, so nobody discovers a shorter allowance on arrival day.

If one companion's visa is being arranged, keep the group's bookings flexible until it arrives. The Seychelles passport holders can travel on schedule, so decide together whether to fly as one group or let the others follow.

If the plan grows past 90 days

Plans change: a relative needs help, a job opportunity appears, a holiday turns into a season. When the extra time is already known before departure, settle it before you fly rather than in the final week of your stay. Options exist, but they depend on your passport and your status on the day you ask.

One point deserves care. UAE entry guidance mentions applying for a pre-arranged visit visa after a fully used 90-day arrival stay, but it names certain European passports in that sentence, and Seychelles is not among them. Other summaries describe the position differently. Rather than assume either outcome, ask before you plan around it, and write to our team with your passport and dates so we can look at your case.

The right move depends mostly on when you notice the gap, so match the action to the calendar:

  • More than a month before your last day: ask about options while every route is still open.
  • In the final fortnight: confirm whether an extension is open to you straight away, because it has to be requested while the stamp is valid.
  • After the stamp has ended: charges start to build with each extra day, so speak to a visa team the same day.

If you are already in the UAE on a visit stamp and want extra weeks, an inside-country extension is arranged without leaving the country. Whether it is open to you depends on your current immigration status, so confirm eligibility first and apply while the stamp is still valid.

At the counter and on the way out

At the immigration counter, hand over your passport and answer the questions. Before you step away, read the stamp: your name, the entry date, the number of days it gives and the passport number should all match what you expect. A wrong detail is simplest to fix on the spot, and so is a stay shorter than you expected, so ask the officer politely before you leave the counter. Then put the entry date and your last day in your phone calendar.

Leaving on schedule matters because overstays are charged by the day, at AED 50 for each day past the end of your stay. Use the final date on the stamp rather than a count made from memory, and book your departure with a day or two in hand so a delayed flight has room to move.

When a paid visa is the better route

For a Seychelles passport on a trip inside 90 days, a paid visa adds nothing, and we would rather say so than sell one. It starts to make sense in two situations: a companion whose passport needs a visa, or a stay that will run past what the arrival stamp covers.

In both cases the first step is a short conversation, not a purchase. Tell our team who is travelling, on which passports and for how long, and we will point you to the option that fits or tell you plainly that nothing is needed. If a companion does need a visa, the application steps are short and easy to follow.

A useful first message to our team names every traveller's nationality and passport expiry date, the planned arrival and departure dates, and any previous UAE stays in the past six months. With those four details a reply can be specific to your situation rather than general.
