Belarusian Passport Holders in Dubai: 90 Days Visa-Free and What to Prepare

Visa-free entry for Belarusian passport holders

The rules on a UAE visa for Belarusian citizens changed in January 2021, when an agreement between Belarus and the UAE extended visa-free travel to ordinary national passports. You can now enter without a visa and stay for as long as 90 days. In other words, there is no Dubai visa for Belarus citizens to arrange before a holiday: an immigration officer stamps your passport when you land.

Entry lists are updated from time to time, and the UAE government portal recommends confirming the rules with the UAE embassy in your country before travel. For travellers in Belarus, that means the UAE Embassy in Minsk.

When you still need a visa

Visa-free entry covers visits. Working, studying or staying beyond 90 days needs a separate visa or permit. The agreement also applies only to citizens, so a travel companion with another passport is judged on their own nationality. When a visa is required, a Dubai visa from Belarus has to be approved before departure, and our Dubai visa application steps explain the process.

Paperwork to settle before leaving Belarus

  • Passport validity. Your passport must have at least six months left on it when you arrive, according to the UAE government portal.
  • Children's documents. Children must have passports of their own. A child leaving Belarus with one parent needs no consent from the other, but a child travelling without either parent needs certified consent from both.
  • Cash limits. Declare cash above USD 10,000 in writing on departure, under Eurasian Economic Union customs rules. On arrival, cash above AED 60,000 or its equivalent must be declared to UAE customs.
  • Heart drops and sedatives. Corvalol and Valocordin contain phenobarbital, a psychotropic under international control. Psychotropic medicines are controlled in the UAE. Either get a free advance permit from the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), or declare the medicine on arrival with your prescription and a medical report.

Flying from Minsk

Belavia and flydubai both fly non-stop between Minsk National Airport and Dubai International, and the flight takes about seven hours. Schedules on this route changed several times in 2026, including a suspension in the spring, so confirm the current timetable with your airline before booking. Dubai is one hour ahead of Minsk all year.

If a companion needs a visa, hold off on non-refundable tickets until it is approved. Once the application is in, you can track your Dubai visa application online.

Paying in Dubai with Belarusian cards

Prices in Dubai are in UAE dirhams (AED). Before relying on a card from home, ask your bank whether it works abroad. Visa and Mastercard have blocked payments abroad for cards from several sanctioned Belarusian banks, and the list has grown over time. Carry a backup, such as US dollars in cash. The dirham is pegged to the dollar at AED 3.6725, so dollar amounts are easy to convert in your head.

Timing your trip around the heat

Minsk averages about −4°C in January and around 19°C in July. Dubai is far hotter: winter days usually reach the mid-20s, while daytime highs between June and September regularly pass 40°C. For sightseeing, aim for November through March, when Dubai's daytime temperatures resemble a warm Minsk summer day. Sockets use the British Type G standard at 230 volts, the same voltage as at home, so a plug adapter is all you need.

Where Belarusians get consular help in the UAE

Your consular point of contact is the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in Dubai, located in Jumeirah Lake Towers (+971 4 242 6688, dubai@mfa.gov.by). The embassy in Abu Dhabi does not perform consular functions.

The UAE's own mission in the country is the UAE Embassy in Minsk, which takes enquiries at MinskEMB@mofa.gov.ae. Please note that Dubai Visitor Visa is an independent, private visa service; consular matters are handled only by the official missions above.
