Dubai Visa for Georgian Citizens
Georgian passport holders do not need a visa application to enter Dubai. UAE immigration issues an ordinary Georgian passport a 90-day visit permit at the counter, so there is no form to file, no approval to wait for and nothing to print before you fly. What matters is how you spend those 90 days and what to do if your plans run longer. A typical holiday will not need anything from us. If you want a stay beyond 90 days, or an approved visa in your hands before you leave Georgia, you can compare the visas we arrange.
What your Georgian passport gets you
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists Georgia among the nationalities that enter without a visa, and airline guidance places Georgian passports in the 90-day arrival group. The permit is issued at the passport counter when you land. Airline guidance describes it as a multiple-entry visit permit that stays valid for six months from the day it is issued, with a stay of 90 days in total across that period. The UAE government publishes the arrival rules and passport requirements for each group of nationalities.
"Visa-free" is easy to misread, so it helps to be exact about what it means. Nothing is approved in advance, which is why there is no e-visa document to download and no application number to track. The decision is made when an immigration officer checks your passport, and the stamp is the record of it. That keeps preparation light, but it also means your passport carries the whole load, and its condition and expiry date are the two things you control.
Your passport needs at least six months of validity counted from the day you enter the UAE. Check that date before you book flights, because a passport that looks fine today can fall short by the time you land. If it has five months left, renew it first.
These rules are for the ordinary Georgian passport. Diplomatic, service and other non-standard travel documents can carry different entry requirements, so holders of those should confirm with their airline or a UAE embassy before booking. Where you live does not change any of this either. The permit follows the passport you present at the counter.
How the 90 days add up
The 90 days are a running allowance, not a fresh 90 for every visit. Each day you spend in the UAE while the permit is valid draws from the same total. Say you spend 35 days in November, fly home, and return for 40 days in February. That is 75 days used and 15 left, provided the second trip falls inside the permit's six months.
Now try three visits of 40 days each. The total reaches 120, so the third trip cannot happen on the same permit however the dates are spread. It is the sort of plan that looks fine one trip at a time and only shows its problem when you add the trips together.
Official sources do not explain how arrival and departure days are counted, so plan as though both count and aim to leave a day or two before the 90th. Treat a flight that departs just after midnight as leaving on the following day.
One small advantage for Georgian travellers: Tbilisi and Dubai both run on UTC+4 all year, so the date printed on your ticket is the date on the clock at either end. You never have to work out whether a night flight shifts the calendar by a day. Entry and exit dates in your log will match your boarding passes exactly.
Keep a short date log with your entry date, exit date and running total. A note on your phone is enough, and it saves guesswork when you plan the next trip.
After the six months have passed, the position is less clear. A new arrival may bring a new permit, but the published guidance does not promise it, so confirm at the counter instead of assuming. If you expect more than two visits in a year, ask our team before booking flights.
Four trip shapes and what each needs
Most Georgian itineraries fall into one of four patterns.
| Trip shape | How the allowance works | Worth checking |
|---|---|---|
| Long weekend or stopover | A few days out of the 90. Entry and exit days both count. | Your passport expiry date against your entry date. |
| One month in Dubai | Uses about a third of the allowance and leaves room for a side trip to another country and back. | That your return to the UAE falls inside the permit's six months. |
| Winter and summer visits | Both trips draw on one 90-day total if they fall inside the same six months. A longer gap is less certain. | The officer's decision at your second arrival. |
| A stay beyond 90 days | The arrival permit ends at 90 days. Anything longer needs an extension or a different visa. | Your plan, settled before you fly rather than on day 85. |
The second row deserves a closer look, because side trips are where plans get fuzzy. Say you base yourself in Dubai for five weeks and spend a long weekend across the border in Oman. A permit described as 90 days in total suggests that days spent outside the UAE are not drawn from the allowance, but the published guidance does not spell out that arithmetic for short trips abroad. The safe habit is to log the days you spend inside the UAE, note each crossing, and keep a margin of a week or so rather than planning to the exact day.
Only the last row calls for action in advance. For the other three, the arrival permit does the job and the date log keeps your count honest.
What to expect at passport control
UAE sources describe the arrival permit without a document checklist, so nobody expects a folder of paperwork. Officers can still ask about your trip, and airlines sometimes ask about onward travel at check-in. Keep your accommodation address and your return or onward flight details easy to find on your phone.
Short, consistent answers work best: where you are staying, for how long, and when you leave. They should match your booking, and your booking should show your name exactly as it appears in your passport.
If you arranged a visa in advance rather than using the arrival permit, carry a printout. Dubai International carries out random eye screening, and airline guidance says visitors sent for it should show a printed copy of their visa or visa number confirmation. Those without one are charged AED 30 per copy, payable only in dirhams.
Staying longer than 90 days
Three routes exist, and they suit different travellers.
Extending from inside the UAE
Our 30-day inside-country extension arranges an extension without leaving the UAE. Whether one is open to you depends on the permit you entered on and your current immigration status, and published guidance on how far a stay can be extended varies by source. So the first step is a check, not an application.
Act while the permit is still valid. UAE authorities charge AED 50 for each day of overstay, which makes a six-day slip AED 300 before any other charge. Grace periods have been withdrawn or changed in recent years, so do not plan around one.
When you get in touch about an extension, have your passport details, your entry date and the date your permit ends to hand. Those three facts let a consultant tell you quickly whether an extension is realistic or whether leaving and arranging a fresh visa is the cleaner route.
Choosing a visa before you travel
A pre-arranged visit visa has its own validity, separate from the arrival permit. Our 30-day and 60-day options sit in the visa cards, and the 30-day multiple-entry visa suits trips that cross into Oman or another country and return. Each product carries its own conditions, so read the ones shown for the visa you choose before paying. How the online application works is explained step by step.
Leaving and coming back
Some travellers consider leaving the UAE and returning to start a new allowance. Airline guidance for certain European nationalities says a traveller who has fully used a 90-day arrival permit may apply for a pre-arranged visit visa, and it does not say whether Georgian citizens fall under that wording. Other sources describe what happens after 90 days differently. Confirm the position for a Georgian passport before relying on a quick exit and re-entry.
Trips that run close to the limit
If your plan lands near day 90, build in room. Choose a return flight you can change, rather than a fixed one on the final day, and decide well before the end whether you will leave or extend. A delayed flight or a cancelled connection can push an exit past the date you wrote in your log, and the fine counts days, not reasons.
Starting the conversation early also widens your choices. An extension is far easier to arrange with weeks left on the permit than with two days left, and a visa arranged in advance for a future trip can be matched to the dates you actually intend to travel.
A simple rule of thumb helps. Treat day 75 as your decision point. By then you know whether the trip is going to plan, whether you want more time, and whether the people you are travelling with feel the same way. If the answer is yes, you have about two weeks to arrange an extension calmly. If the answer is no, you have two weeks to book a flight home without paying a premium for a last-minute seat.
Travelling with someone on another passport
Each passport is judged on its own. Yours needs nothing in advance, while a partner, friend or colleague on another nationality may need a visa approved before they can board. That mismatch is worth catching at the planning stage, long before anyone reaches check-in.
Start with the other traveller's nationality, then decide what they need. If a visa is required, our team can file the application, and families or groups can be filed together, so your own plans do not wait on theirs.
Mixed groups also need a plan for the day of arrival. Travellers whose visas were approved in advance and travellers using an arrival permit can land on the same flight, yet they are processed on their own passports and may not reach the counter together. Agree a meeting point beyond passport control before you land, and make sure the person on a pre-arranged visa has their approved document saved on their phone and printed, so nobody stands waiting for a delayed approval to arrive.
Children are judged by the passport they hold. A child travelling on a Georgian passport falls under the same nationality listing as you, while a child on a different passport follows that passport's rule.
Work, study or moving to Dubai
The arrival permit is for visiting. Taking a job, enrolling on a course or settling in the UAE goes through separate applications with their own paperwork, and an employer, school or sponsor is usually involved. A visit that turns into one of those plans needs the new status to be applied for separately. The permit does not convert on its own.
When to ask our team
Most Georgian holiday trips need nothing from us. It is worth getting in touch when your stay may pass 90 days, when a companion travels on another passport, when you want an approved visa in hand before leaving, or when you are already in the UAE and your date is getting close. Send a message through our contact form and a consultant will pick it up. If you decide a visa is the better route, your file is checked before it reaches immigration and you can follow its progress online.
If you have already filed with us, follow the file on the Dubai visa status tracker.
