GDRFA for Dubai Files

GDRFA Dubai has several ways to check a file. Its current request tracker asks for email, Emirates ID and the request reference. Its Visa Status service has other search modes. It may ask for a request number, transaction number, file number, passport, country or date of birth.

An Abu Dhabi visa status check should match the question you are trying to answer. Track request and issued-file validity are related, but they are not the same enquiry.

Before You Start the Visa Check

A few checks can save time before you open ICP.

• Use the same passport that was used for the visa request.
• Keep the passport expiry date and nationality ready.
• If the visa is still in process, keep the full application number from the receipt.
• Check whether the file belongs to ICP or GDRFA Dubai.
• Do not use an airline booking code in place of an immigration application number.
• Use a private device when you enter passport data.

If someone else filed the request, ask them for the real immigration reference. This may be an airline, employer, sponsor, host, hotel, travel firm or visa service.

An Abu Dhabi visa check by passport number is available through ICP File Validity, but the passport number is not the only field. The live passport-information search also asks for the passport expiry date and nationality.

Use the passport linked to the file. If you renewed the passport later, the new details may not match the old file. Check the issued document or contact ICP when the record cannot be located.

How to Check Abu Dhabi Visa Online Through ICP

Use the check that matches the visa stage. For a pending request, use application tracking. For an issued visa or residence file, use File Validity.

For a Pending Application

1. Open ICP Smart Services or the ICP website.
2. Choose the Track Request option.
3. Enter the request number from the receipt.
4. Review the status shown for that request.
5. If the record is unclear, contact ICP on 600 522222.

For an Issued Visa or Residence File

1. Open ICP File Validity.
2. Choose the correct module and search method.
3. For passport search, enter the passport number, expiry date and passport country.

Do not treat every date as the same expiry date. ICP File Validity can show the file issue date, validity date, file expiry date, last permitted date, cancellation date and stay-day information where those fields apply.

Abu Dhabi Tourist and Visit Visa Status

An airline, sponsor, host, travel company or visa service can submit a tourist or visit visa. The person who submitted the file should give you the official application reference when one is available.

Before approval, track the request through the route linked to that application. After approval, check the issued file through ICP. Review the name, passport details, visa type, entry type and dates before you travel.

Do not confuse an approved application with the final stay dates. The issued visa and live file record are the better place to confirm when the visa can be used and how long the approved stay lasts.

What ICP File Validity Can Show

The live ICP result can show more than a simple “valid” or “expired” answer. The exact fields depend on the file.

• File status
• Issue date or valid date
• File expiry date
• Last permitted date where relevant
• Date the file was closed, if shown
• Days already used in the UAE
• Remaining stay days where the service provides them
• Overstay days where the file has a violation

Read the dates as separate fields. A visa can have an issue date, a last date to enter and a stay period after entry. Do not turn one date into all three.

What Does the Visa Status Result Mean?

Do not expect every ICP service to use the same status words. That is too broad. Read the exact status shown for your request or file.

• If the request is still being processed, wait for the authority or submitting channel to update it.
• If the portal asks for more data, send it through the same route used to apply.
• If the authority approves the request, verify the issued document and dates before travel.
• If the visa office rejects it, ask the submitter or visa office what information they can share.
• If no record appears, check the visa office, search type and details again before you assume the request failed.

Do not use 10 business days as a universal delay rule. Processing time depends on the visa service and the file.

What to Do After You Get the Result

Read the result before you take the next step. Do not act from one word on the screen.

• Still in process: keep the same application and wait for the next update unless the authority asks you to act.
• More details needed: send the requested file through the same route used for the application.
• Approved: check the issued visa, passport details and dates before travel.
• Rejected: ask the original submitting channel or authority what information is available for the case.
• No record: check the portal, passport, nationality and reference number again.
• Wrong personal data: contact the submitting channel. Do not edit the visa file yourself.

Keep a copy of the issued visa and the status result. If the record changes later, you will still have the earlier file for reference.

Why an Abu Dhabi Visa Record May Not Appear

A “no record” result does not prove that a visa is fake or rejected. Start with the search details.

• You selected GDRFA instead of ICP, or ICP instead of GDRFA.
• The passport number, expiry date or nationality does not match the file.
• You used a new passport instead of the passport linked to the application.
• You entered the wrong application or file number.
• The application is recent and the record has not appeared yet.
• The issued file is already used, closed, cancelled or expired.
• The site may be down for a short time.
