Argentine citizens travelling on an ordinary RENAPER passport can enter Dubai without a visa and stay for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Nothing is applied for or paid in advance: the passport is stamped on arrival, and it must have six months or more of validity remaining. The 90 days cannot be extended, so the trip has to fit inside them. A visa only enters the picture for travellers on an emergency passport or companions on a passport without the exemption, and for them you can apply online before the trip.

At the time of writing, Argentina's embassy in Abu Dhabi recommends that Argentines postpone non-essential and tourist travel to the country until further notice, and avoid transiting its international airports. The reasons given are airspace restrictions and flight disruptions in the region. Visitors already there are advised to leave when the situation and air traffic allow.
That advice can change quickly in either direction. Check the embassy's site and your airline's schedule shortly before booking, and again a few days before you fly. If you decide to go, comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical care and disrupted flights is worth having; the embassy recommends it too.
Counting 90 Days in 180: Dubai Stay Planning for Argentines
The limit is a rolling total, not a fresh 90 days on every trip. Each time you enter, look back over the previous 180 days and add up the days you have already spent in the country. Whatever is left is your allowance.
A simple illustration: spend 60 days in Dubai across March and April, and only around 30 days remain for any return trip until those spring days drop out of the 180-day window. Two long visits close together can run out faster than people expect.
Because the stay cannot be extended, there is no paid fix if a business project or family visit runs long. Book a return date that leaves a few days of margin. If you visit more than once a year, keep a simple note of every entry and exit date; the stamps are the record that counts, and a quick tally before each trip avoids a surprise at the border.
Argentine Travellers Who Also Hold an Italian or Spanish Passport
Plenty of Argentines carry a second, European passport. Italy and Spain are in the same 90-day group, so the second passport does not buy extra time. Pick one passport for the trip, enter and leave on it, and use the same one when booking flights. Switching passports between entry and exit is a reliable way to cause questions at the airport.
Passport, Not DNI: Argentine Documents for a Dubai Trip From Ezeiza
The DNI works for travel within Mercosur and associated countries, which is why many Argentines rarely use their passport. Dubai is outside that area, so the passport book is essential, even if your flight stops in Brazil on the way.

There is no nonstop flight between Buenos Aires and Dubai. Itineraries from Ezeiza involve at least one stop, often in Brazil, Europe or the United States, and the total journey is often close to a full day. Dubai is seven hours ahead of Argentina, so departure and arrival dates on your ticket can look odd at first glance.
A connection in Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo does not change the document rule: the journey ends outside Mercosur, so travel on your passport from the start. Routes through the region have been disrupted at short notice, so confirm your flight status close to departure rather than relying on the timetable you booked against.
If you are only connecting through Dubai to somewhere else, the same visa-free rule applies whenever you leave the airport, so there is no transit visa to buy for your Argentine passport.
Argentines Based in the US: Same Passport Rule for Dubai
Living in Miami or New York does not change anything. An Argentine citizen enters on the Argentine passport, with the same 90-day limit, whether the flight leaves from Ezeiza or from JFK. A green card is not used for entry here. What matters is the passport's expiry date, so check it before booking, since renewing abroad goes through an Argentine consulate and takes time.
When Someone in an Argentine Family Needs a Dubai Visa
Visa-free entry belongs to the passport, not to the family. Households in Argentina often include relatives holding other nationalities, for example a partner or grandparent travelling on a Bolivian or Venezuelan passport. Neither of those passports is on the visa-exempt lists, so those travellers need a visa issued before the flight. Children are assessed on their own passports as well: a child travelling on an Argentine passport stays exempt even if the other parent is not.
For a short holiday, the 30-day single entry visa is the usual choice. If the trip includes a side visit abroad with a return to Dubai, the 30-day multiple entry visa avoids a second application. At passport control, the officer scans your passport and adds the entry stamp; there is no form to complete and nothing to pay. After a journey of close to a full day and a seven-hour time shift, most travellers arrive tired and out of sync. Plan a light first evening, set your phone to local time before collecting bags, and arrange hotel transfers in Dubai time, not Buenos Aires time. Argentina's winter school break falls in July, which is one of Dubai's hottest months, with daytime temperatures often above 40°C and most activity moving indoors. The southern summer is the better match: Dubai's comfortable season generally runs from November to March, which lines up with the December to February holidays. That is also the busiest period, so book early around Christmas and New Year. Ramadan moves earlier each year, so check its dates if you plan to travel then, as many restaurants and attractions adjust their hours.
Overstays and Exit Passes for Argentine Visitors
Staying beyond your permitted days means a fine of AED 50 per additional day.
