Dubai Visa Photo Size in Pixels
GDRFA's current standard tourist-visa service does not publish one pixel dimension that applies to every Dubai tourist-visa photo. ICP's ICAO photo guidance describes a close-up of the head and top of the shoulders, with the face occupying approximately 70–80% of the photograph. Use this as composition guidance rather than a universal digital crop setting.
Glasses, Sunglasses and Religious Head Coverings
ICP's current guidance does not allow sunglasses and permits medical glasses only when they do not cover the eyes. Its detailed photo guidance also says the eyes should remain clearly visible without flash reflection or tinted lenses, and frames should not cover any part of the eyes.
Head coverings are permitted for religious reasons when the facial features from the bottom of the chin to the top of the forehead and both edges of the face remain clearly visible.

Use even lighting across the face. Avoid harsh flash, strong side lighting, red-eye, deep shadows and reflections. The photograph should reproduce the applicant's appearance naturally and should not be excessively bright or dark.

Can You Take a Dubai Visa Photo With a Phone?
A phone camera can produce a suitable visa photograph when the final image meets the required photo standards and the application channel accepts the file. Image quality, lighting, framing and background matter more than the device used to capture the photograph.

Very young babies may not hold the same expression as adults. Use the clearest recent image possible and follow any additional infant-photo instructions provided by the application channel.
Can You Edit a Dubai Visa Photograph?
Technical adjustments such as correcting orientation, cropping, converting a file format or reducing file size may be needed to meet an upload requirement. These changes should not alter the applicant's real appearance.
Avoid face reshaping, skin smoothing, eye enlargement, artificial smiles, beauty filters, hair replacement or AI-generated facial details. Do not remove, add or materially change facial features.
The official photo standards specify how the submitted photograph should look but do not provide a general rule approving digital background replacement. Taking the photograph against a real white background is the cleaner option and reduces the risk of unnatural edges around the hair or shoulders.

A photo studio may prepare a printed passport-style photograph using millimetres, while an online application may check pixel dimensions, image format and file size. A printed photograph and a digital upload can therefore come from the same original image while requiring different preparation.
