Brazil to Dubai: 90 Days, No Visa Required

How Do You Get From Brasília to Dubai?

Brasília has no nonstop flight to Dubai, so most travelers connect through São Paulo’s Guarulhos Airport (GRU), roughly a two-hour domestic hop from the capital. From GRU, Emirates operates a daily nonstop service to Dubai International Airport (DXB), with a flight time of about 14 to 15 hours depending on direction and season. Rio de Janeiro is a second common departure point with connections onto the same Dubai route. Because the domestic leg adds time on both ends, build in a comfortable connection window in São Paulo — especially on the way home, when the inbound flight from Dubai lands in the early evening with onward flights to Brasília typically available later that night or the next morning.

Brazilian Passport Holders Enter Dubai Visa-Free

Brazilian citizens do not need a visa to visit Dubai. Under a visa exemption agreement between Brazil and the UAE, holders of a regular Brazilian passport can enter for tourism or short business purposes and stay for up to 90 days per visit, with no application, sponsor, or advance approval required.

That allowance covers the passport holder only — travel companions on a different nationality’s passport are assessed under their own country’s rules, not Brazil’s. It also doesn’t extend to paid work based in the UAE; if you’re relocating for a job rather than visiting, you’ll need a work or residence visa arranged by an employer instead. If anyone in your travel party isn’t covered by a visa-free arrangement, our step-by-step guide to applying for a Dubai visitor visa walks through the process, and expedited processing is available when timelines are tight.

Finding Consular Support While You’re in the UAE

Brazil’s embassy in the UAE, including its consular section, is based in Abu Dhabi. It handles passport renewals, civil documents, and emergency assistance for Brazilian citizens. Brazilians living in or visiting Dubai, Sharjah, or Ras Al Khaimah have occasionally been served through pop-up consulate sessions held in Dubai, but Abu Dhabi remains the main point of contact for anything that can’t wait. If you’re simply visiting on the visa-free entry, you’re unlikely to need the embassy at all — it mainly matters if you lose a passport or need a document authenticated while you’re there.

Budget in Reais, Not a Fixed AED Rate

The UAE dirham (AED) is pegged to the US dollar, but the Brazilian real (BRL) floats freely against both, so there’s no fixed conversion figure worth publishing here — check a live rate shortly before you travel rather than one from months ago. Dubai tends to run more expensive than Brazil for accommodation, dining, and attractions, so budget with that gap in mind. Most hotels, restaurants, and taxis price in AED and accept major international cards, though it’s worth carrying some cash for smaller vendors and public transport top-ups.

Best Months for a Brazilian Traveler in Dubai

Dubai is most comfortable for sightseeing from November to March, well short of the 40°C-plus heat that settles in from June through September. That cooler window happens to line up with Brazil’s own summer holiday season, since December and January fall right in the middle of Dubai’s peak tourist months rather than its off-season — useful to know if you’re trying to combine a Brazilian summer break with time outdoors rather than mostly indoors or by the pool.

For travel companions who do need to apply, or if you just want to check on an application already submitted, our visa status checker covers that. And if you’re coordinating a mixed-nationality trip, the Dubai Visitor Visa has guides for other passports too.
