Dubai Visa for Thai Citizens 2026: Apply from Thailand

Thai passport holders travelling from Thailand to Dubai should check their entry route before paying for a tourist visa. Since 25 June 2026, some Thai ordinary-passport holders with qualifying foreign visa or residence status can use a special 14-day or 60-day UAE entry route. If that route does not apply to you, choose a pre-arranged visa that matches your stay and number of UAE entries. You can begin with the Dubai visa application service after confirming which route fits your passport and travel plan.

Thai passport holders now have two different UAE entry paths

A Dubai visa from Thailand is not one single product. Your Thai citizenship matters, but your valid visa or residence status in another country can also change the route available to you.

Who can use the special 2026 route?

The 2026 rule covers eligible Thai ordinary-passport holders and qualifying family members. It can apply when the traveller holds a valid visa, residence permit or US Green Card issued by the United States, European Union or United Kingdom, or a valid residence permit issued by Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, Singapore or New Zealand.

The passport must be valid for at least six months. The 14-day route can be extended once for the same duration, while the 60-day route is non-extendable. The entry permission should be used according to the validity and stay conditions issued for the traveller. Review the current ICP Thailand eligibility update before relying on this route.

If the special route does not apply, choose the visa from your itinerary

For a normal pre-arranged tourist application, the most useful decision is not simply “Which visa is longest?” Start with how many days you plan to stay in the UAE and whether you will leave and return during the same journey.

Travel planVisa option to review
One short UAE visit with no re-entry30-day single-entry visa
One longer continuous UAE stay60-day single-entry visa
A shorter trip that includes leaving the UAE and returning30-day multiple-entry visa
A longer itinerary requiring repeat UAE entry60-day multiple-entry visa

Travelling between Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the other UAE emirates does not count as leaving the UAE. Multiple entry matters when you actually cross out of the country and later return. If you want to compare the wider range of routes before choosing, use the Dubai visa types guide.

For the current payable amount, check the selected product and final checkout rather than relying on an old nationality-page card. The Dubai visa cost guide explains the main fee components and the difference between authority fees and a visa-service package.

How to apply for a Dubai visa from Thailand

If you need a pre-arranged visa, the application can be completed online from Thailand. Use the passport you will actually carry on the trip and keep the information consistent from the first form to the final document upload.

  1. Confirm the route. Check whether the special 2026 Thailand entry route applies before purchasing a tourist product.
  2. Choose the stay and entry pattern. Select 30 or 60 days, then decide whether the itinerary needs single or multiple entry.
  3. Enter the passport details carefully. Names, passport number, nationality, date of birth and expiry date should match the passport exactly.
  4. Upload clear files. Avoid cropped passport scans, glare, unreadable text or a photograph that does not meet the application standard.
  5. Review before payment. Check the visa category, traveller details and current checkout amount before submitting.
  6. Keep the application reference. You will need it for follow-up and status tracking.

Prepare documents for the route you are actually using

For a standard tourist application, start with the core travel file rather than adding every document found on a generic checklist.

  • Passport bio page: provide a clear copy of the Thai passport being used for travel. For the applicable tourist route, the passport should generally have at least six months of validity.
  • Recent personal photograph: use a clear colour image that meets the current visa-photo standard.
  • Return or onward travel: keep evidence showing how you will leave or continue from the UAE.
  • UAE-valid health insurance: keep appropriate cover for the trip where required by the selected route.
  • Additional case documents: provide extra evidence only when the selected route, sponsor or immigration review requires it.

Use the Dubai visa requirements guide to check the core file, and the Dubai visa photo guide if you need to prepare a new image.

Using the special Thailand route?

Keep the qualifying foreign visa, residence permit or Green Card evidence available along with the passport and photograph. The document must match one of the eligible countries and conditions for the route. A Thai passport by itself does not automatically create the special 14-day or 60-day entitlement.

Your residence country can change the answer, but your passport still matters

A Thai citizen living in Thailand and a Thai citizen living in the United Kingdom, United States, Australia or another country may not have the same UAE entry route. The passport remains Thai, but qualifying foreign status can affect eligibility under the 2026 rule.

When completing an application, do not replace your passport nationality with your country of residence. Enter both correctly. This is particularly important for travellers who hold a Thai passport but have lived abroad for several years.

When should you apply before flying to Dubai?

For a pre-arranged application handled through Dubai Visitor Visa, standard processing is generally planned around 2–3 working days. Express handling may be available within 24 hours for eligible applications. These are service targets rather than approval guarantees, and document corrections or additional checks can extend the timeline.

If your travel date is close, review the Dubai express visa service after confirming that you actually need a pre-arranged visa. Do not choose an urgent paid product before checking whether the special Thailand route already applies to your passport and residence status.

Only connecting through Dubai?

A traveller flying from Thailand through Dubai to another country may need a transit route rather than a 30-day tourist visa. If you need to enter the UAE during an eligible short stopover, compare the 48-hour transit visa and 96-hour transit visa. Transit eligibility depends on the onward journey and the conditions attached to that route.

If your plans change after arrival

If you are already in the UAE on an eligible tourist or visit visa and need more time, check the visa you currently hold before selecting an extension. Dubai Visitor Visa currently lists a 30-day inside-country extension at USD 550 regular or USD 575 express, and a 60-day inside-country extension at USD 670 regular or USD 700 express.

The special 60-day Thailand route described above is non-extendable, so do not assume that a paid extension product can override the conditions of that entry permission.

After you submit, check the issued details before travelling

Keep your application reference until the journey is complete. Use the Dubai visa status service for an application submitted through the service. When the visa is issued, check the name, passport number, nationality, entry type and permitted dates against the passport and itinerary.

Choose the Thailand-to-Dubai route first, then apply

If your Thai passport and foreign residence status qualify for the special 2026 entry route, follow those conditions. If you need a pre-arranged tourist visa, choose the stay and entry type that matches your real itinerary and start your Dubai visa application. For a mixed-nationality family or an unusual residence situation, ask the visa support team to review the route before payment.
