Dubai Visa From Singapore depends first on the passport you will use, not simply on where you live. Singapore passport holders can normally visit the UAE without arranging a tourist visa in advance and may stay for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. If you hold another nationality but live in Singapore, your UAE entry route can be different. Choose the route that matches you
- Singapore passport holder: no advance tourist visa is normally required for a qualifying short visit.
- Indian, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Filipino, Kenyan or South African passport holder with qualifying Singapore residence: a special UAE 14-day or 60-day entry route may be available if the current conditions are met.
- Other foreign resident of Singapore: check the UAE rule for your passport nationality before applying.
- Visa-required traveller: choose a 30-day, 60-day, transit or multiple-entry option only when it matches the actual trip.
Singapore Passport Holders: The Current UAE Entry Rule
Singapore citizens using an ordinary Singapore passport are currently exempt from arranging a UAE tourist visa before travel. Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that Singapore passport holders can stay visa-free in the UAE for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. The Singapore MFA UAE travel guidance provides the current short-stay position.
The 90-day allowance is cumulative. If you visit Dubai several times within the same 180-day period, each day spent in the UAE uses part of the same allowance. A short trip to another country does not automatically give you a fresh 90 days when you return.
Your passport should also meet the UAE’s general entry-validity requirement. The UAE Government currently states that passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry.

Living in Singapore Does Not Give Every Passport the Same UAE Rule
A Singapore Employment Pass, S Pass, Dependant’s Pass, permanent residence or another residence document does not by itself make a foreign passport visa-free for the UAE. The passport remains the starting point.
There is, however, an important 2026 route for some residents of Singapore. UAE ICP currently allows eligible nationals of India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Kenya and South Africa to use a 14-day or 60-day UAE entry visa when they also hold a valid residence permit from an approved country, including Singapore.
The residence permit must satisfy the current ICP conditions, and the traveller must still meet the passport and nationality requirements for that route. The 14-day visa may be extended once for another 14 days, while the 60-day visa is single entry and non-extendable. ICP currently publishes issuance fees of AED 100 for the 14-day category and AED 250 for the 60-day category.
If you are not in one of those eligible nationality groups, do not assume your Singapore residence card changes your UAE visa requirement. Check the nationality rule first.
When a Singapore Resident Actually Needs a Dubai Tourist Visa
A foreign resident of Singapore may need advance UAE approval when their passport is not visa-free, does not qualify for a normal visa-on-arrival route, and does not meet the conditions of the special residence-permit category.
In that situation, choose the visa around your itinerary rather than around the longest stay available:
- 30-day single-entry visa for one shorter UAE visit.
- 60-day single-entry visa for one longer continuous stay.
- 30-day multiple-entry visa when the traveller genuinely needs to leave the UAE and return during the same trip period.
- 60-day multiple-entry visa when both a longer stay and repeated UAE entries are needed.
Travelling from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or another emirate does not use another entry because you remain inside the UAE. Multiple-entry visas are relevant when you actually leave the country and return.
Documents: Prepare Only What Your Route Requires
A Singapore passport holder using the normal visa-free route does not need to build a standard tourist-visa application file before departure. Keep the passport, return or onward travel information and accommodation details available for normal airline and immigration checks.
For a foreign resident who needs an advance tourist visa, the current GDRFA tourist-service requirements include a personal photograph and passport copy. The passport should have at least six months of validity, and the traveller should have onward or return travel plus health insurance valid in the UAE.
If eligibility depends on Singapore residence, keep the residence permit available as well. Additional supporting documents may be requested for a specific nationality, sponsor or application case, but they should not be treated as universal requirements for every traveller from Singapore.
How Much Does a Dubai Visa From Singapore Cost?
For an eligible Singapore passport holder using the normal visa-free short-stay route, there is no standard advance tourist-visa fee to pay.
Foreign residents who require a tourist visa pay according to the visa category and application channel. GDRFA currently publishes government fees of AED 200 plus 5% VAT for a 30-day single-entry tourist visa and AED 300 plus 5% VAT for a 60-day single-entry tourist visa. Its multiple-entry service lists AED 300 plus VAT for 30 days and AED 500 plus VAT for 60 days.

Dubai Transit From Singapore: Do You Need a 48-Hour Visa?
A Singapore passport holder who qualifies for the normal UAE visa-free entry does not need to buy a separate 48-hour or 96-hour transit visa simply because the itinerary includes Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
For a foreign resident of Singapore whose passport requires UAE entry permission, a transit visa may be relevant when the traveller has a qualifying stopover and plans to pass immigration. The UAE offers 48-hour and 96-hour transit categories through eligible UAE-based airlines. If that matches your itinerary, review the 48-hour transit visa rather than automatically buying a 30-day tourist visa.
How to Apply From Singapore When Advance Approval Is Required
- Confirm the passport rule. Check whether you are visa-free, eligible for visa on arrival, eligible through Singapore residence, or required to apply in advance.
- Choose the stay and entry type. Match the visa to the real itinerary.
- Prepare clear documents. Use the passport, photograph, ticket, insurance and residence evidence required for your route.
- Enter passport details exactly. Name, date of birth, nationality and passport number should match the travel document.
- Review the price before payment. Check the government and service components shown for the application.
- Keep the application reference. Follow the case through the Dubai visa status page.
- Check the approved visa before departure. Confirm the passport number, entry type, validity and permitted stay.

Singapore citizens using the normal visa-free route do not have a tourist-visa processing period because there is no advance tourist application to process.
For foreign residents who require an issued tourist visa, GDRFA currently lists an expected completion time of 48 hours for standard 30-day and 60-day tourist services. Private handling time and immigration review are separate stages. If you use our application service, standard handling is generally planned around 2–3 working days, while express handling may be available within 24 hours for eligible cases.
Incomplete documents, unclear passport scans or additional immigration review can extend the timeline. Apply with enough time to correct a document rather than relying on the shortest possible processing estimate.
Multiple Trips From Singapore: Count Your UAE Days Carefully
Singapore passport holders do not need to buy a multiple-entry tourist visa just because they expect to visit Dubai more than once. Their normal short-stay entitlement already allows travel within the 90-days-in-180 limit.
The important task is day counting. If you make several UAE trips for work meetings, holidays or family visits, record each entry and exit. Once your total approaches 90 days within the relevant 180-day period, confirm your remaining eligibility before booking another trip.
Foreign residents using an issued tourist visa should follow the entry count and stay conditions printed on that visa instead of applying the Singapore-passport rule to their case.
Extensions Depend on the Status You Actually Hold
Do not assume one extension rule applies to everyone travelling from Singapore. A Singapore passport holder using visa-free entry, a traveller on the special 14-day residence-based route and a person holding a paid tourist visa are in different categories.

- Use the correct passport. Visa eligibility follows the passport presented for travel.
- Check six-month validity. Renew early if your passport is close to expiry.
- Count recent UAE stays if you are a Singapore citizen using the 90-days-in-180 rule.
- Carry Singapore residence evidence when your eligibility depends on it.
- Keep return or onward travel details available.
- Do not purchase a tourist visa only because you live in Singapore. First check whether your passport already qualifies for visa-free entry or another route.
