Dubai Visa for Grenada Passport Holders

Grenadian passports are not on any UAE list for entry without a pre-arranged visa, so every Dubai visa for Grenada citizens starts with an online application rather than a stamp on landing. For holidays, family visits and shopping trips, most Grenadians choose the tourist e-visa valid for 30 days and one arrival, delivered by email as a PDF. The real planning lies in the long journey from St George's, the entry rules of whichever country you connect through, and the papers airline staff will check.

Do Grenadians Need a Visa for Dubai?

Every ordinary trip needs one. The UAE's foreign ministry lists Grenada among visa-required nationalities in its exemption schedule for foreign passports, unlike Barbados and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, whose citizens arrive without one. Some older articles still promise free 90-day entry for Grenadian passports, based on a visa-exemption memorandum the two governments once signed; the current UAE list does not reflect it, so arrange the visa before booking non-refundable flights. Check-in agents look for the approval at the first airport, whether that is Maurice Bishop International or a connection in Miami.

Why Grenadians Cannot Use the Arrival Visa Routes

The UAE grants entry visas on landing to a handful of nationalities holding a US visa or European residence, but those schemes cover India and six Asian and African countries, not Caribbean passports. Holding American permanent residence or residency in Britain does not alter this, so a UAE visa for Grenada passport holders is always approved online first.

Choosing a UAE Visa on a Grenada Passport

Pick a Dubai tourist visa that fits how many nights you plan and any hop across a Gulf border mid-trip:

Your Grenadian tripVisa to choose
Up to four weeks of beaches, malls and desert campsSingle-entry visa lasting 30 days
Four weeks with a weekend away in Doha or Bahrain30-day visa allowing re-entry
Six to eight weeks with relatives working in Dubaitwo-month visa for one arrival
Two months broken up by side trips around the Gulf60-day visa with repeat entries
Meetings, trade fairs or property viewings14-day business visa
A night or two between long flightstwo-day transit permit or stopover visa for 96 hours

Each option is a Dubai visit visa issued electronically, so nothing is collected from an embassy. Passengers who never leave the transit area when changing planes at Dubai need no visa, while anyone stepping out between flights needs a Dubai transit visa.

Documents for Grenadian Applicants

The Dubai visa requirements for Grenadians come down to five uploads:

  • A sharp colour image of the biographical page, taken from a passport with half a year or more of validity left on landing day.
  • A recent face-forward photo on white, following our guidelines for Emirates visa photos.
  • Your full flight itinerary, connecting legs included.
  • Your hotel confirmation, or the street address of family or friends putting you up.
  • Travel health insurance that pays out in the UAE, explained in our insurance notes for Emirates visitors.

Children apply separately, with passports and photos of their own. Copy each name character for character from the machine-readable lines, because airlines and immigration officers compare spellings closely.

Renewing a Grenada Passport

Renewals are handled by the Immigration and Passport Department in St George's, and Grenadians resident in the Emirates can ask the Grenada consulate in Dubai about passport services. Renew first and apply afterwards, because an approval belongs to the passport number entered on the form and cannot move to a new booklet.

Applying Online From Grenada and Paying in EC Dollars

  1. Choose a visa and open its application form.
  2. Enter Grenada for nationality and add your home country for residence.
  3. Attach the passport image, photo and travel documents.
  4. Pay by credit or debit card; the US dollar amount appears on Grenadian statements in Eastern Caribbean dollars.
  5. Follow progress in our online visa tracker, then keep the approved UAE e-visa on your phone with a printout for the check-in desk.

Each visa card lists its Dubai visa processing time, which never runs past four working days, and Saturday and Sunday fall outside the UAE working week. Since getting from Grenada to the Gulf can take well over 24 hours, apply at least two weeks before departure. When departure is close, our express handling for UAE visas can shorten waiting times on eligible files; only UAE immigration can approve a visa.

Flights From Grenada to Dubai Through London, Miami, New York or Toronto

No airline connects Grenada and the UAE directly. From Maurice Bishop International, American Airlines serves Miami, JetBlue serves New York JFK, Air Canada serves Toronto and British Airways serves London Gatwick, and Emirates flies on to Dubai from all four cities. A connection on American soil needs a valid US visa even for a few hours airside, and Canada and the UK apply their own transit conditions, so confirm the connecting country's requirements before paying. Keep every leg on one ticket so that a late Caribbean sector becomes the airline's problem to rebook.

Time Difference Between Grenada and Dubai

Grenada keeps Atlantic Standard Time, UTC-4, while Dubai stays on UTC+4; neither adjusts for summer, so the gap stays at eight hours year-round and 9am in St George's is 5pm in Dubai. Eastbound journeys usually land on a later calendar date, which must fall inside the travel dates your UAE e-visa permits.

Grenadian EC Dollars and Dirhams

The Eastern Caribbean dollar and the dirham are both fixed to the US dollar, so one EC dollar buys roughly 1.36 dirhams at a rate that barely moves. Cards work across Dubai, and airport ATMs dispense dirhams.

Planning a Dubai Trip From Grenada Around the Seasons

Dubai is most comfortable from November to March, when afternoons are warm rather than scorching; from June to September temperatures pass 40 degrees, far hotter than a Grenadian summer. Spicemas in August keeps many Grenadians at home, so winter and the Easter holidays are the usual windows for a Gulf trip, and families often time visits to school breaks. Hotel rates rise around New Year and during big events, so reserve rooms well ahead.

Grenadians in the UK and US Applying for Dubai

A home in Britain or America leaves the requirement untouched: a Grenadian living in London or Brooklyn still applies online, naming the United Kingdom or United States as residence. Grenadians who have also taken British or American citizenship may travel on that document instead, since neither needs a UAE visa arranged beforehand; our guidance for British travellers and American passport holders covers those rules. Show one passport consistently from check-in through to departure.

Grenadian Workers and Students Moving to the UAE

Paid work is outside what any visit visa allows. Grenadians offered jobs in Dubai's hotels, airlines or hospitals start on a permit requested by the hiring company, set out in our breakdown of UAE employment permits, and students heading to an Emirati university follow the separate route in our UAE study visa checklist. Be wary of recruiters who suggest arriving as a tourist and finding work later.

Grenadian Citizens by Investment Living in the UAE

Many Grenada passports belong to investors who gained citizenship through the investment programme and already live in the Emirates. A UAE residence is linked to one passport number, so travel on that passport, or update the record with immigration before switching. Holders of a second passport from a visa-free country may find it simpler to visit on that document, but the visa, the booking and the passport shown at the border must all match. Investors visiting from abroad on a Grenada passport use the same visa products as any other Grenadian.

Extensions and Overstays for Grenadian Visitors

Should plans change once you land, request a Dubai visa extension before your final permitted day. Depending on the visa, that may be a one-month in-country extension or a two-month extension filed while still in the country. Overstaying brings a daily AED 50 fine with no grace period, collected by airport immigration on departure; our rundown of how UAE overstay fines add up has the detail. After a refusal, review the usual reasons Dubai visas are declined before trying again.

Grenada Consulate in Dubai

Grenada was the first Caribbean Community member to open a consulate in the UAE, and its Dubai office promotes investment links and offers passport services to Grenadian citizens in the region. Contact it if a passport goes missing during your stay, after reporting the loss to Dubai Police. Emailing yourself a photo of the passport's details page speeds up any replacement.
