With no nonstop route between the two countries, most of the planning is about the connection, the processing window and the papers to carry to check-in.
Mozambican Passport Holders and the Dubai Visit Visa
The UAE foreign ministry files Mozambique under "visa required" in its exemption register sorted by country, and Mozambicans are not covered by the arrival visa the UAE now grants six other nationalities on the strength of foreign residence. Permanent residence in America or a Portuguese residence card therefore makes no difference: approval must come through before departure.

Business and Buying Trips From Mozambique to Dubai
Importers from Maputo and Beira sourcing electronics, building materials or vehicle parts usually travel on the business visa. Any cash over AED 60,000 brought into the UAE has to be declared at the airport, and invoices for goods shipped home through Maputo or Beira ports are worth keeping in one folder.

Passports are issued by SENAMI, the National Migration Service, in Maputo and at provincial offices. Renew before applying if your passport would have under six months left on arrival, because the approval belongs to the old passport number and is not carried across to a replacement.
Yellow Fever and Mozambican Travellers
Yellow fever risk lists do not include Mozambique, so the certificate rule the UAE applies to arrivals from those countries does not normally affect a trip from Maputo. It does apply when a layover of over twelve hours is spent waiting at Addis Ababa, Nairobi or another airport in a risk country, so check connection times before booking.

No scheduled service links Mozambique and the UAE nonstop, so expect at least one change of aircraft. Qatar Airways flies from Maputo to Doha most days, and passengers can keep the whole trip on one booking, with the Doha to Dubai leg taking about an hour. Airlink and LAM run frequent shuttles to Johannesburg, where Emirates offers four nonstop departures a day, taking a little over eight hours. Ethiopian Airlines connects Maputo with Dubai through Addis Ababa. Travellers in Beira, Nampula, Tete or Pemba usually reach one of these hubs through Maputo or Johannesburg. Holding all segments on one booking means the airline must rebook you after a delay; with separate tickets through Johannesburg you may need to collect bags and check in again, so leave several hours.
Mozambique to Dubai Time Difference: Two Hours
Mozambique runs on Central Africa Time and Dubai on Gulf Standard Time; neither moves its clocks, leaving Dubai two hours ahead of Maputo. An evening departure from Maputo often lands the next morning; make sure the arrival date sits inside the entry period printed on your e-visa.
Mozambicans in the United States and Dual Portuguese Nationals
A green card in Houston or Boston does not change what a Mozambican passport needs: apply online in advance, naming the United States as residence. From the US, Emirates runs nonstop Dubai services out of several major cities. Mozambique's Consulate-General in Dubai, listed in the Al Jafiliya area, handles passports and consular questions for citizens in the Emirates; phone before visiting to confirm hours. Losing a passport in Dubai means filing a police report before the consulate can help with an emergency travel document. Mozambicans living in the UAE can invite parents and siblings on visit visas, filing a separate application for each. The host's tenancy contract and Emirates ID copy are normally accepted instead of a hotel reservation. Staying Longer in Dubai: Extensions and Overstays for Mozambicans
If plans change after you land, raise it before your final permitted day. An extension of 30 days filed inside the country, or the 60-day option that avoids flying out, may be possible under your current visa.
