UAE Visa Restrictions 2026: Current Bans, Entry Rules & Status

UAE visa restrictions do not mean that a whole country is banned. As of 24 August 2026, there is no public UAE list that bans all citizens from the countries often named online. One clear rule is active for recent travel to the DRC, Uganda, and South Sudan. Check your Dubai visa status before you travel.

This guide separates real rules from online rumours. It covers tourist visas, work visas, entry rules, airline checks, and personal bans. Each one is different. A problem in one area does not always affect the others.

UAE Visa Restrictions 2026: Current Status

There is no single rule for every visa problem. First, find the type of issue. Then check the right source.

The key point is simple. A visa refusal is not the same as a national ban. Extra checks are not the same as a national ban either.

Confirmed UAE Entry Rule for DRC, Uganda and South Sudan

The clearest current rule began on 6 June 2026. It was added due to Ebola concerns.

A traveller who was recently in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, or South Sudan may not enter the UAE. The person must first spend more than 21 days outside all three countries.

This rule can apply even if the person travels through another country first. It is based on recent travel, not only on passport type.

UAE officials also announced a pause on new visas for nationals of the same three countries. This included visit visas.

Are Iranian Passport Holders Restricted?

In April 2026, UAE airlines posted limits for some Iranian passport holders. The rule covered entry and transit at that time.

The live situation later changed. The old Iran notice is no longer shown on Emirates' main travel-updates page. A major UAE news report also added a note that its old story may no longer be current.

For that reason, this page does not call the Iran rule active today.

If you hold an Iranian passport, check your airline before you book. Also check the UAE visa route that applies to your trip.

Is There an Official UAE Visa Ban List?

No public UAE page confirms the viral “nine-country ban” lists as one blanket rule.

Different websites have shared different lists. The names do not match. Some lists name Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, Lebanon, Cameroon, Sudan, or Uganda. Other lists add Nigeria and more African states.

This is a major warning sign. If the lists came from one clear order, the names should match.

Do not call a country “banned” unless a current UAE source supports that claim.

Bangladesh Visa Ban Rumour

The Bangladesh Embassy in the UAE denied the viral 2025 ban story. It said the claim came from an unverified visa website.

The embassy also said no UAE order had been issued for the claimed blanket ban.

Pakistan Visa Ban Rumour

Pakistan has also faced repeated visa-ban rumours. Some applicants have faced more checks or more refusals.

That does not prove a ban on all Pakistani citizens. No public UAE blanket-ban notice names all Pakistani passport holders.

Many searches for UAE visa restrictions are really about visa need. These terms are not the same.

A normal visa need is not a ban. Most travellers in the world need a visa for some trips.

A traveller must still meet the normal entry rules even when no ban applies.

• Return ticket: may be asked for.
• Stay address: may be asked for.
